Today our devotion is from the Newspaper article I write.

Believe Again by Mark Driskill
The Lord is saying to his church in Breathitt County, the time has come to Step up and Step out! Over and over throughout the scripture this is the call. Step up to who you are as a child of God shaking off the shackles of unbelief, and step out in faith and obedience to what God is calling you to. Abraham had to step up out of the pagan worship of the moon god in Ur and into the walk of faith as the first of many heirs of the kingdom of God. Then he stepped out on pure faith, not knowing where he was going but believing God. He believed and was called the friend of God. King David stepped up from being a shepherd on a hillside and into his calling to be King of Israel. A blind man begging on the side of the road stepped up out of his blindness and into his new life as a seeing follower of Jesus. On and on we could go through the scripture seeing how God calls people to step up out of bondage and emptiness and into a new life then step out in faith to do great things for God.

Oh friends, can you hear the sound of renewal in the air? God is at work in his church and all over the county bringing new life. Everywhere from the courthouse to the church house to the school house and even to your house God is at work. Every time you drive along Highway 15 and see the place where the new highway is being created, mountains leveled and valleys filled in, remember that this is more than a construction project. It is a sign that God is rearranging the landscape in our beautiful county. Pay attention to what you see happening in our community and don’t despair when things look difficult. There will be trials along the way but it is all part of God’s plan to transform our community to bring glory to his name.

Church listen up. The days of living in survival mode are coming to an end. As God moves among us he is not calling us to hold out and hide out any more. It is time to take bold steps of faith and bring the love and power of Jesus into our neighborhoods, schools, businesses, wherever you have influence. This is the time for every pastor and church member to ask the Lord, “What is my mission?” God is calling us to go out and make disciples, to feed the hungry, heal the sick, administer justice, and care for the lonely and hurting. It is time for churches to begin to pray as never before for revival. For the last several months God has been calling Christians of all denominations to pray together for revival. Many have answered the call. If you feel in your spirit that God is calling you to pray with us, the gathered church of Breathitt County, here are some things to get involved with.

On the first Tuesday of every month at 5:00 p.m. come join us at the Old Country Inn for prayer. Believers from all denominations are meeting there praying.  If you are on Facebook join our prayer group “praying for Revival in Breathitt County” We have prayer meetings online every day of the week. We also have neighborhood prayer walks beginning that you can join as well.

Friends, we are seeing God answer prayers, and change lives. No enough space in this article to tell it all. Let must just close by saying this. God is moving in powerful ways and is calling all his church to step up into his calling and out of lukewarm religion, and step out by faith and make a difference in your community. Are you hurting and feeling hopeless today? Then step up to the savior and step out by placing your trust in him. Step up and step out church!

“If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and seek my face and pray, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
