The unseen power of your prayers

Read Acts 10:1-8

“Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God.”

You just never know what impact your prayers are having in the invisible realm of eternity.  Cornelius prayed and gave regularly.  He was hungry for this God of Israel that he was familiar with, but had no clue about salvation through Jesus Christ.  He had no idea how his prayers were being received in the heavenlies. No doubt, if Cornelius was anything like the rest of us, he went home from his place of prayer wondering if anyone up there was even listening.  He no idea that his prayers had become so precious to God as to be called a memorial offering in His presence. How could he know what was going on in the realms of glory?  Now if God can be so moved by one not yet Born Again, how much more does his heart move when one of his adopted ones call “ABBA Father”?

None of us fully realize what is happening in the heavenlies when we pray.  I am somewhat convinced that you will stand before God in utter amazement as eternity unfolds the beauty of some of your deepest prayers.  Many prayers you don’t even remember praying, or prayers that left you feeling cold.  Perhaps it was that prayer of faith in the hospital waiting room.  Or maybe that teary offering of praise as you drove home from work.  Perhaps that whisper of faith in some dark alley of personal struggle gripped the heart of God in ways beyond your comprehension.  But nothing will ever compare, in the heavenlies, to that prayer you prayed when you first said yes to Jesus.  The king of the universe dances in the throne room when one lost soul says yes to the crucified and risen lamb.  And at the rate people are being saved around the world today your papa in heaven must be doing a lot of dancing.  Put away your image of a miserable frustrated God who is unwilling to hear from you.

Oh friends, never believe the lie that God is tired of hearing your problems.  Your sincere cries of faith even in desperation and brokenness mean more to God’s heart than you can fathom.  Why not send up a memorial offering today?
