(From this weeks Newspaper article “Believe Again”)

For those who desire a new day for Breathitt County the time has come to start looking up.  For those who long for a future free from the hopelessness of former days and who believe that Jesus Christ is our only hope the time has come to wake up.  For those who have spent hours on their knees weeping for real change the time has come to stand up and step up.

God is at work in powerful ways all around our community. From the courthouse to the school house to the church house the Lord is beginning to shake things up.  From every church in the county God is calling people to seek him and pray for this community as never before.  While many choose to waste away in apathy and despair there are those who feel a stirring in their souls to go beyond the band aid remedies of politics and programs and take hold of the heart of God for this community.  From those people God is raising an army of disciples who will pray, love and serve in order to see an end to the petty politics, corruption and godlessness of the past.

Are you part of that army?  Have you felt a tug of the Spirit to seek the Lord for real change? Then stand up look up and listen up.  You are not alone. This weekend the army is coming together. It is an army made up of Christians from all corners of the church who are committed to real spiritual awakening in Breathitt County. Come join us as we seek God together.  This weekend will be of historic significance in our community.

Come and join us for these events:

  • Thursday: March 17, 6 p.m. - Downtown prayer tour. Meet with us at the courthouse steps as we walk together through the historic tour of Jackson. We will stop at several points along the tour and ask God to forgive the corruption and murders of the past and heal our land of the “Bloody Breathitt” legacy.
  • Friday, March 18- Sunday, March 20th- “Blow the Trumpet” Prayer Rally hosted by Solid Rock Assembly of God. Friday 7-10 p.m. worship, preaching and ministry. Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Workshops all day on Spiritual growth and warfare. Followed by worship and ministry from 7-10 p.m. Sunday 6p.m.- 9p.m. worship and ministry.

These events are open to anyone who believes that Jesus Christ is the only true hope for our community. This weekend is also open to anyone who is seeking God, and in need of prayer, even if you aren’t sure what you believe. Come and meet Jesus in power and love.

If you want to debate religion or argue over doctrine stay home. But if you are looking for the kingdom of God come join with us as we seek him together. If you have questions send me a message. Join us as we seek God together for the dawn of a new day in Breathitt County.
