“The Lord will….”
Before reading the thoughts below take a few moments and just be still in God’s presence. If you are having trouble focusing on the Lord begin by handing over all your worries and concerns to him. Transfer them from your heart to his hands by faith. Then relax. Breathe deeply and just wait before the Lord. Ask him to make you aware of his presence. Repeat the next part of our verse over and over prayerfully until you begin to feel the reality of the words. “The Lord will…”
Meditation:
Aren’t you glad the scripture never tells us “The Lord might…”? There is no uncertainty or indecision in God. Every promise is stamped with God’s “yes” in Christ. How sad it would be if God wanted us to live in the quicksand of doubt regarding his love. Jesus tells us to pray in faith believing, not wringing our hands “hoping it worked”. Rather we are to live in the serene faith that before we called God was at work to bring about the very best for us and for his glory.
Will I always get my way when I pray? Fortunately no. But I will always get God. His power and love are a certainty that I can build my life on. I need not spend my days in fear that God has not settled his mind about me. He established his love for me long before time began. Take out your worry list right now and beside each item write these words, “The Lord will.” “The Lord will” “The Lord will.”
