Our Statement of Beliefs
The Source and Absolute Standard of God’s Truth
We believe in the Scripture of the Old and New Testament as verbally inspired from God, and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are supreme and the final authority in faith and life. II Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12
We believe God has preserved His word to this day as His sovereignty is testified by the number, consistency and antiquity of the majority/traditional texts.
We believe the minority texts are prevarications of truth and do not reflect God’s true word as is testified by the overwhelming evidence.
The Nature and Persons of God
We believe God is perfectly righteous and perfectly just, the absolute standard of all truth
We believe God is a personal Creator, desiring a personal relationship with His creation.
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary and is true God and true man. Matthew 1:22-25
We believe in the literal resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate. I Corinthians 15:3-5, Hebrews 4:14
The Nature of Man
We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred, not only physical death, but also spiritual death; which is separation from God. That all human beings are born with a sinful nature. Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12, 1 John 1:8,
We believe that in man’s fallen state he is incapable of meriting any favor in the sight of God. I believe it is God that calls us to Him based upon His own will and that of nothing we have done. Isaiah 64:6, Romans 9:18, Ephesians 1:5
The Means of Salvation
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scripture, as a substitutionary sacrifice; and that all those who believe in Him are justified by His shed blood. John 3:16
We believe the processes of justification and sanctification to be distinct operations upon the believer.
We believe in one Gospel and that those that teach any other means of salvation but by the imputation of Christ’s righteousness through faith alone have been accursed and are not His children. Galatians 1:6, 8,9
We believe faith is never alone but is always followed by works of sanctification. James 2:18
We believe faith (pistis) is derived from believing (pisteou) and not from a mere profession of faith. I believe we as men cannot determine who are justified of their sins by the works they display alone, as God only can search the heart and determine who are truly His.
We believe that all who receive, by faith, the Lord Jesus Christ, are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. Our bodies being the temple of the Holy Spirit. John 1:12, Romans 8:11, 1 Corinthians 6:19
We believe that those who accept Christ as Savior should openly confess Him in baptism. Romans 6:4
We believe faith is only as good as the object in which it is placed. Those professing an ambiguous faith in God’s existence are not saved and are still in need of trusting in Christ’s righteousness being imputed by faith alone for the justification of their sins. James 2:19, Romans 3:23,24, 6:23
We believe in that “blessed hope”, the personal, pre millennial and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ. I Thessalonians 4:16
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting, conscious punishment of the lost. John 3:36
