Born Alive Bill Appears to be Born Again

By Dr. Tony Beam.

As I pointed out in my last column, too often bills assigned to committees in the South Carolina Senate go there to die. The Born Alive Infant Protection Act, sponsored by South Carolina Citizens for Life, was dispatched to the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee early in this legislative session. The bill is one of three pro-life pieces of legislation that faces extinction if no action is taken before the end of this legislative session. The abortion coverage opt out of Obama Care has been set for “special order” and will likely be debated and voted on this week. The Freedom of Conscience Act failed to receive enough votes from the Senate’s Medical Affairs Committee to be sent to the floor and was sent back to the sub-committee on a seven to seven vote effectively killing it for this session.

Until last week, it appeared the Born Alive bill would also suffer the fate of Senate committee limbo. But we now know the Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on the bill on Wednesday, March 7th at 9:00am in room 308 of the Gressette Building. The hearing comes at a crucial point in the legislative session as time is running out for advancing bills that are in the second year of a two-year cycle. For now, the bill rests in the hands of Committee Chairman Jake Knotts and committee members Chip Campsen, Phil Shoopman, Gerald Malloy and Brad Hutto.

Some may say the bill is redundant because the language mirrors the Federal Born Alive Protection Act passed by Congress in 2002. However, current law leaves unanswered the question of when precisely a human baby without legal protection becomes a legal person who is protected by law. The bill before the Judiciary Committee precisely and with indisputable language extends legal protection to infants who are alive at the time of their birth. It clarifies the meaning of “born alive” by describing it as “complete expulsion or extraction from his or her mother followed by a heartbeat and respiration or movement of voluntary muscles.

Because South Carolina has not adequately defined the line between fetus and legal person, infants are often treated with a horrific disregard that should shock the conscience. A story that has made the rounds since 2003 relates how workers at a Columbia laundry facility found the body of a premature infant in with the dirty linens from a Clarendon County hospital. This story was confirmed and reported by The State newspaper. More recently, a number of Upstate news outlets reported the story of an infant born alive and left to die in a Greenville BI-LO Center toilet.

This critical life issue arises when an abortion procedure results in a terminated pregnancy with an infant that is alive after the procedure. There are still abortions where labor is induced as a method of terminating the pregnancy. However, there are other abortion procedures that can result in an unintended live birth. The most famous abortion survivor is Gianna Jesson, who survived a saline abortion at eight months gestational age. Gianna was twenty-three yeas old when she testified before the U.S. House Judiciary subcommittee in 2000.

Most South Carolinians are horrified at the thought of a baby being terminated after it leaves the womb. Babies left to die because the mother’s intent was to abort take us beyond the slippery slope of moral relativism and into the bottomless pit of infanticide.

We must not rest until every baby is protected in the womb, welcomed in life, and shielded from even the remotest possibility of infanticide.

AIPAC 2012 Begins With A Bang

By Dr. Tony Beam.

Jane Harman, former democratic congresswoman from California’s 36th district, and Liz Cheney, republican columnist and political commentator, opened AIPAC 2012 by squiring off over Iran during a panel discussion.

The discussion began in a cordial fashion but sparks began to fly when Cheney, commenting on the quality of U.S. intelligence said, “When U.S. Intelligence says X and Israeli intelligence says Y we should remember the U.S. has a poor track record on predicting a state’s ability to acquire nuclear weapons.” Harmon countered saying, “Our intelligence capability is good and is getting better.” She said there is agreement between Israel and the United States that Iran is a year away from getting full nuclear weapons capability and two years away from putting a nuclear warhead on a rocket.

The moderator tried to redirect the discussion toward the Syrian situation but both Harmon and Cheney were content to continue their debate over the effectiveness, or lack thereof ,of the Obama Administration’s dealings with Iran. When asked about Syria Cheney replied that the sanctions being pressed against Iran are affecting the Iranian people but not affecting the military establishment or their development of a nuclear weapon. Cheney said, “Anyone who says they (Iran) hasn’t decided whether or not to weaponize must ask why they are enduring economic sanctions and why they are continuing to turn international inspectors away.” She emphasized the fact that the redline on the Iranian nuclear program is not the date they might actually possess a working nuclear weapon, but rather the date they are capable of doing so.

Liz Cheney was the only conservative voice heard from the platform on Monday. Israeli President Shimon Peres followed the panel discussion and was warmly received by the 13,000 plus in attendance. He immediately praised President Obama for “being such a good friend to Israel.” He spoke of the historic miracle of the Jewish state. “For Israel,” he said, “The pursuit of peace is not a passing opportunity. It is a moral imperative.” When he spoke of Iran his comments were biting as he described Iran as “an evil, cold, morally corrupt regime based on destruction and an affront to human dignity.”

President Obama was greeted by a respectful and mostly warm response from the crowd. Early in his remarks he announced that Israeli President Peres has been invited to the White House later this spring to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest honor the President can bestow on a civilian. This announcement was met with the most enthusiastic response of the crowd during the speech.

The President spent most of the rest of the speech trying to shore up his support of the Jewish community. All of the candidates for the Republican presidential nomination have painted the president as being weak in his response to the Iranian threat. In response, President Obama said, “When it comes to preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon all options are on the table. A political effort, an economic effort, a diplomatic effort, and yes, a military effort,” are being employed. President Obama rejected the conservative characterization that he believes Iran can simply be contained. “I do not have a policy of containment. I have policy of preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon,” the president said.

The president scolded many on the right who are calling for a more substantial and perhaps, a military option for Iran. Speaking directly to his rivals for the presidency he said, “Already there is too much loose talk of war. There has already been too much of this. Now is not the time for bluster. Now is the time to let our increased pressure sink in.” He concluded his remarks by resurrecting Teddy Roosevelt’s “speak softly and carry a big stick”

Two things stand out from the opening session of AIPAC 2012. First, President Obama realizes he has a problem with the Jewish community. From his treatment of Prime Minister Netanyahu as a problem child rather than a precious friend by shunning him at the White House to his unannounced announcement of a call for Israel to consider a return to pre-1967 borders President Obama has opened a gap between the U.S. and Israel. That gap may not exist in his own mind but it certainly exists in the minds of many Jews as was evidenced by the somewhat tepid overall response he received during his speech. The President was forced to list what he believes are his many acts of support for Israel. He touted the record level of financial aid and military support his Administration has provided. He spoke specifically of $200 million in support of the “Iron Dome” program and of the unprecedented cooperation between the U.S. and Israeli military intelligence agencies.

While true, these “accomplishments” touted by the president could be compared to a president touting his attendance at cabinet meetings as a sign of his commitment to being a good president. What President Obama has done represents the minimum of what any president would do and, while doing the minimum, the president has maximized tension with Israel by conducting an aggressive outreach to Israel’s enemies and reacting naïvely to the alarming rise of the Muslim Brotherhood as a consequence of the Arab spring.

Finally, it will be interesting to see how Prime Minister Netanyahu responds to the president’s address when he takes the podium at AIPAC. President Peres adoration for President Obama is nice and it makes sense politically for someone in his position to come out in strong support of President Obama’s leadership. But with all due respect to President Peres the person with the most on the line is the Prime Minister. He can’t afford to ignore or downplay President Obama’s attempt to placate Israel’s enemies. The economic sanctions and diplomatic efforts of the Obama Administration have fallen far short of the promised results with Iran. The real question is will President Obama do whatever is necessary to stop Iran from reaching the capability of making a nuclear weapon? The jury is out on this question and Israel may believe they cannot afford to wait for a clea

Dead Men Walking

By Coach Dave Daubenmire
Originally Published on NewsWithViews.com

Have you looked around lately? I mean really looked around.

Most Americans are walking dead men…dead on the inside. But they don’t know it.

They spend their time chasing after stuff…or things. Every thing that drives them is a result of some motivation from the outside.

Music, NASCAR, the Academy Awards, NFL, Fox News, i-phones, iPods, TV, fantasy football, porn…

Everyone is yearning for some outside stimulus from which they can charge their batteries.

It is because the average person is dead inside. Everything that keeps them going is based on an external jolt. Life is just something they live through…endure…just walking dead men.

Entertainment is the battery-charger that makes them feel alive. But the “charge” is short-lived. Just like the Chevy Volt, at the end of the day, most Americans need to be connected to an auxiliary power source.

“I just had to get my battery re-charged” I overheard a man say the other day regarding his recent trip to the casino.

What is charging your batteries? What are you plugged into? From where do you draw your inner strength? What makes you feel alive?

Let’s face it. Most American’s are dead on the inside.

When the hard times hit America and everything that folks use to charge their batteries is either suspended or gone, there will be great despair. Without a power source, they will shrivel up and die.

Dead batteries. Zombies. The night of the living dead is soon to be the norm in America.

Three kids are physically dead in Ohio. The media wants to blame it on the usual…bullying…but T J Lane was powered by the wrong source.

I spent 25-years working with “troubled” kids in government schools. I don’t know T J, but I knew many like him.

I believe as the story unfolds we will see a picture of a directionless child from a broken family, void of any real connection to anyone or anything. Like thousands of others, he overdosed on amusement…video games, movies, social media…struggling to find something to connect to… something to give him life.

But it was all empty, and worse yet, temporary. His power-source was no longer sufficient to fully charge the batteries.

T J wasn’t a “bad kid”, he was just dead inside. Just like his parents…and most of his friends…plugged into worldly system striving for “self-fulfillment.” Walking dead people.

Yep. There are many more T J Lanes out there. They don’t all kill and they are not bullied. But they are dead on the inside.

Sometimes I even wonder if we love our children.

Turn on your TV for five minutes and make a note of the commercials. All of them are geared to improvement of the body, or the mind. Paint it up, puff it up, shrink the size, eat this, don’t eat that…read this, study that, try this method, fifty ways to fifty dollars…this celebrity uses this, this celebrity uses that, you can be a celebrity to if you will try it…

Rarely will you find any mention of feeding the soul. The culture caters to the flesh and the mind. Spiritual things are classified as “religious” and given their own TV channels.

Meanwhile, most of America has Spiritual-anorexia. We are a Spirit-starved nation. Americans are dead inside, charged up on counterfeit energy.

I hate religion. Nothing has destroyed the Gospel more than religion. Ponder this quote:

“Religion is the dead faith of those now living. Christ is the living faith of those now dead.”

Americans are religious and dead. They follow a set of guidelines spelled out by their church. Ask the average church-goer what “religion” he/she is and you will find a startling answer.

“Baptist” or “Lutheran,” “Pentecostalm,” “Methodist,” “Catholic,” “Assemblies of God,” “non-Denominational”…38,000 different Christian- denominations in the world. Not two in ten will give the correct response…”Christian.”

Most people follow religion. They have never connected with Christ.

That’s why most Americans are spiritually dead.

I used to be a walking dead man. I know what that is like. I remember how it feels…going to “Church” and leaving the same as when I walked in. Playing the game. Doing all of the “religious stuff” that all of the “religious leaders” instructed me to do.

But they weren’t plugged in to the source either. They preached about money and “blessings” and “healings”, and their “religion” became nothing more than another battery source; something to plug into that would make their “journey” on earth a little more bearable. The Scriptures call it “the blind leading the blind.”

But then I found Jesus.

Oh, some of you reading this will laugh because you think I’m foolish. But that’s ok. I used to think like you as well…a walking dead man. But then I found Jesus.

Jesus is life!! He doesn’t make life better. He IS life! He is the life-source of all creation.

Most “Christians” are not connected to Jesus. They are religious. They cling to their “stuff” just as frantically as the average Joe. It is their “stuff” that charges their batteries. Jesus is merely the one who dispenses the goodies.

They don’t love Jesus for Who He is, but for what He provides.

That’s why multi-cultural education is all the rage. The blind are leading the blind. Those who don’t know Jesus don’t want Jesus to be spoken of. They are dead. They are connected to “things in the culture” from which they get their power. “Whatever turns you on”they say.

For many, Christ is just another wall-outlet into which they insert their plug. Walking dead men.

But Jesus is not a battery charger; he is a “transformer.”

An electrical transformer is a device that changes electrical energy from one circuit to another. The natural world cannot power a spiritual being. Trusting the “things of this world” to charge your batteries is like trusting in milk to produce cows.

Jesus transformed me.

It’s funny, you know. Jesus told us that in order to live we must die. Only when I died to myself, did I discover real life. Jesus is life.

Christ is THE power source. Everything flows out of Him. Jesus changes a person from the inside out. You can’t flow out what has never flowed in. If Jesus is powering you out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

It’s too bad so few understand it.

Living my life for me was empty. Living my life for Him empowers others.

“Religion is the dead faith of those now living. Christ is the living faith of those now dead.”

I died to myself and am no longer a walking dead man. I traded my life for His. Jesus is life!

Now I am a dead-man walking.

I wonder if anyone every told T J Lane?

Remembering The Alamo

By Chuck Baldwin
March 1, 2012

March 6 marks the anniversary of the fall of the Alamo back in 1836. For more than 13 days, 186 brave and determined patriots withstood Santa Anna’s seasoned army of over 4,000 troops. To a man, the defenders of that mission fort knew they would never leave those ramparts alive. They had several opportunities to leave and live. Yet, they chose to fight and die. How foolish they must look to this generation of spoiled Americans.

It is difficult to recall that stouthearted men such as Davy Crockett (a nationally known frontiersman and former congressman), Will Travis (only 23 years old with a little baby at home), and Jim Bowie (a wealthy landowner with properties on both sides of the Rio Grande) really existed. These were real men with real dreams and real desires. Real blood flowed through their veins. They loved their families and enjoyed life as much as any of us do. There was something different about them, however. They possessed a commitment to liberty that transcended personal safety and comfort.

Liberty is an easy word to say, but it is a hard word to live up to. Freedom has little to do with financial gain or personal pleasure. Accompanying Freedom is her constant and unattractive companion, Responsibility. Neither is she an only child. Patriotism and Morality are her sisters. They are inseparable: destroy one and all will die.

Early in the siege, Travis wrote these words to the people of Texas: “Fellow Citizens & Compatriots: I am besieged by a thousand or more of the Mexicans under Santa Anna. . . . The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise the garrison are to be put to the sword . . . I have answered the demand with a cannon shot & our flag still waves proudly from the walls. I shall never surrender or retreat. . . . VICTORY OR DEATH! P.S. The Lord is on our side. . . .”

As you read those words, remember that Travis and the others did not have the A.C.L.U., P.E.T.A., the National Education Association, and the Southern Poverty Law Center telling them how intolerant and narrow-minded their notions of honor and patriotism were. A hostile media did not constantly castigate them as a bunch of wild-eyed extremists. As schoolchildren, they were not taught that their forefathers were nothing more than racist jerks. Neither did they have pastors constantly filling their hearts and minds with this imbecilic “Obey-the-government-no-matter-what” misinterpretation of Romans chapter 13.

The brave men at the Alamo labored under the belief that America (and Texas) really was “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” They believed God was on their side and the freedom of future generations depended on their courage and resolve. They further believed their posterity would remember their sacrifice as an act of love and devotion. It all looks pale now.

By today’s standards, the gallant men of the Alamo appear rather foolish. After all, they had no chance of winning–none. Yet, the call for pragmatism and practicality was never sounded. Instead, they answered the clarion call, “Victory or death!”

Please try to remember the heroes of the Alamo as you watch our gutless political and religious leaders surrender to globalism, corporatism, socialism, and political correctness. Try to recall the time in this country when ordinary men and women had the courage of their convictions and were willing to sacrifice their lives for freedom and independence.

One thing is certain: those courageous champions at the Alamo did not die for a political party or for some “lesser of two evils” mantra. They fought and died for a principle, and that principle was liberty and independence. So did the men at Lexington and Concord. That is our heritage.

Today, however, our national leaders are in the process of turning the United States over to the very forces that the Alamo defenders (and America’s Founding Fathers) gave their lives resisting. On second thought, do they look foolish, or do we?

P.S. Let me remind readers that I have a DVD available entitled, “The True Meaning of Romans 13.” This DVD contains four messages and may be purchased at the incredibly low price of only $15 (price includes shipping). In essence, you are getting all four of my Romans 13 messages for the price of one!

In this message series, I quote scores and scores of Biblical references to show the “whole counsel of God” relative to the subject of submission to government. The Biblical and historical records on this subject are clearly propounded in these messages. This might be the most relevant and important message series I’ve ever delivered.

To order the Romans 13 DVD, go to:

http://chuckbaldwinlive.com/home/?p=3146

Plus, my son, Tim Baldwin (who is an attorney and constitutional scholar), and I have collaborated on a blockbuster book on Romans 13. It is entitled, “Romans 13: The True Meaning of Submission.” This book has even more information, scriptural references, documentation, quotations, etc., than the DVD. To order the Romans 13 book, go to:

http://www.romans13truth.com/

I urge readers to obtain as many of the DVDs and/or books as you can and distribute them to your Christian friends, church leaders, and pastors. It is no hyperbole to say that the erroneous “Obey-The-Government-No-Matter-What” misinterpretation of Romans 13 is destroying America–just as it destroyed Germany when Adolf Hitler promoted this fallacy to German pastors and churches.

The Battle for the Soul of America

By Coach Dave Daubenmire
Originally Published on NewsWithViews.com
Reprinted with Permission of the author

Martin Niemoller: “Our concern here, Herr Hitler, is not for the church. Jesus Christ will take care of the church. Our concern is for the soul of the nation.”

Adolph Hitler: “You can leave the soul of Germany to me.”

Words have meaning. My perspective on life was altered when I came to that realization. We live in a nation where we believe every “expert.” We have been trained to listen, but not to think.

We share a common language, but we do not realize that words mean different things to different people. For a greater perspective, read my commentary Change the Words, Change the World.

I used to think that the term “pro-life” meant that a person was against abortion. Sorry Charlie. Most “pro-lifers” are pro-choice…they just think that “life” is the “correct” choice. They do not hate abortion and do not fight to outlaw it.

That’s why so many politicians claim to be “Pro-Life,” yet abortion remains legal. Republicans tend to be “Pro-Life,” but they don’t really want to stop the butchering of babies.

But we think they do. We think “Pro-Life” means “stop abortion.” It doesn’t.

“Conservative” is another one of those words. Most of us here in fly-over country assume that “conservative” is a belief system. In reality, it is just a “position” that political candidates claim to hold. “Pro-Life” is one of those “conservative” positions.

That’s why they break “conservatives” into classes; “social” conservatives, “fiscal” conservatives, “judicial” conservatives, “neo” conservatives, and ironically, “Christian” conservatives.

You would think that most Christians would be “conservatives,” but of course, you would be mistaken. There are “liberal” Christians, “social-justice” Christians, “fundamentalist” Christians, “moderate” Christians, and my favorite, “Bible-believing” Christians. You see, not even “Christianity” is a one-size-fits-all description. Just like “conservative.” Just like Republican.

While most “conservatives” are Republicans, not all Republicans are “conservative.” They are not the same. I explain it here. I’m not even sure what “Christian” or “conservative” means anymore.

Let me get to the point. The “non-conservative” Republicans control the Republican Party.

Wake up folks. Our ignorance is destroying us. The Republicans and the Democrats are merely two wings of the same vulture. They represent the “Political-Class;” those who make their living off of bigger government. Their currency is PMS…Power…Money…Sex.

They are one party masquerading as two; The Democrat Political-Class and The Republican Political-Class. They fight over which side gets control of the money, not over issues.

The Republican Political-Class is fighting like mad to see Romney get the nomination because he is “more electable.” “More Electable” means Romney won’t “rock the boat” and the Republican Political-Class gets their turn to play quarterback. Either way, the “Political-Class” calls all of the plays.

Romney has run for President for five years, yet he still can’t get more than 30% of the Republican vote. Most of his 30% are the Political-Class Republicans. Heck, he could get that much if he challenged Obama in the Democratic Political-Class Primary.

Gallup reports that 42% of voters identify as conservative, 35% as moderate, and only 20% liberals. The “conservatives” only need 9% of the “moderate” vote to win. Yet the Republican Political-Class is pushing a “moderate” as their candidate. Meanwhile, the “liberals” are destroying this country.

The big myth is that Republicans represent “conservatives” when they don’t. It is the “moderate” Republicans who split the “conservative” vote by nominating RINOS. Some “moderate” Republicans voted for Obama. Some “conservative” Democrats didn’t. Lindsey Graham is a member of the Republican Political-Class, as are Susan Collins, Karl Rove, Olympia Snowe, and John McCain. Do they represent you?

Let’s face it. Both major political parties are for bigger government. A vote for either party is a vote for more government courtesy of the “Political-Class.” Their plan is to nominate a “moderate” to oppose a “leftist”, and leave “conservatives”, the majority, with no place to go.

THE TEA PARTY IS THE CONSERVATIVE BASE. Have you noticed how both sides of the “Political-Class” hate the “tea-baggers?” The Tea Party IS the opposition party to the “Political-Class.” The Tea Party must seize control of the Republican Party. It is the only chance to return power to the people.

I love to hear the media prattle on about the dangers of a “third party.” I would love to see a SECOND party; One that actually brings change. In my lifetime the Republican Party has nominated Eisenhower, Nixon, Goldwater, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush I, Dole, Bush II, and McCain. The Political-Class has continued to grow and national morality has continued its rapid plunge into the toilet as the Republicans moved farther and farther left.

Today, there is no “conservative” party.

Rick Santorum has raised a fire-storm because he is speaking about the “social” values. Right on cue, both wings of the Political-Class begin to yap about how “social” values cannot win in the general election. Folks, “conservative social” values still win the day. That is why the pigs are squealing so loudly. Even the Paul-bots don’t like the “social” issues. Many of them want freedom without responsibility.

If lying, stealing, and fornicating once again became taboo in America; if we once again began to demand those values of our children and our leaders, The Political-Class would no longer have a platform upon which to stand.

Santorum has seen a meteoric rise. He is speaking the language that a majority of Americans understand. He has said such things as “Satan has his sights on the United States of America…attacking the great institutions of America, using those great vices of pride, vanity and sensuality as the root to attack all of the strong plants that has so deeply rooted in the American tradition.” He called Satan, “The Father of Lies.” JN 8:44

When it comes to social values he doesn’t need a teleprompter. He knows that song by heart. He understands that the heart of the problem is that America has a problem of the heart. Our government is a reflection of our people. We must return to Truth.

The “Political-Class” has taken America hard left. A “moderate” correction will not bring us back to the middle. Only a hard-right can keep the one-winged eagle from a death spiral.

“Conservatives” hold deep-seated beliefs. “Republicans” hold political positions. They are not the same. If a “moderate” faces a “leftist” in 2012, “conservatives” cannot win. Ignorance is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

I support most of what Ron Paul stands for, but he fails to understand the importance of “social issues.” He calls them a “losing position.”

Isn’t fiat currency a social issue? What about the crap your kids are learning in government schools? Isn’t government theft a social issue? Abortion, marriage, war…aren’t they “social” issues?” Do you mean socialism is not a “social issue?”

Don’t let them blow smoke at you. It is not about contraception or women’s rights. It is about right and wrong. Right and wrong is not a state’s-rights issue. Right and wrong is a human rights issue.

It is time we drew a line and had a fight over the moral issues. Christians have given ground for far too long. It is time we had the debate. It is time to rise up against the cultural, moral rot.

The battle over right and wrong is THE political issue of our time. If this election is lost I don’t want it to be over tax cuts. The battle lines are drawn. Let’s get it on. Let’s force the “moderates” to go third-party.

“But the media tells us that a conservative will lose!!”

Wake-up, Pal. We are already losing. Stupid is as stupid does.

What Ron Paul’s Detractors Reveal

By Chuck Baldwin
February 23, 2012

It is no secret that I am a huge Ron Paul fan–and I have been for many years. Do I agree with him on every single issue? Of course not. And I don’t have to agree with him on every single issue to know Ron Paul is the only true constitutionalist in the Presidential field–from either major party. And when a President (or any other public office holder) takes his or her oath of office, they do not swear to be a good conservative, or to be a good Christian, or to support the state of Israel, or to “create jobs,” etc., etc. They swear to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. That is their solemn oath before God and the American people. Nothing more. Nothing less. And for over two decades, Congressman Ron Paul has demonstrated his fidelity to that oath. And for that, I can and must support him.

In spite of Dr. Paul’s stellar congressional record, however, there are large numbers of Republicans and “conservatives” that are his fiercest critics. I’ve even heard some “conservatives” say that they would rather see Barack Obama reelected than for Ron Paul to become President. Such is the lunacy of many so-called “conservatives” today.

So, what is it about Ron Paul’s detractors that cause them to despise him so much? What is their beef? They would never say that they would rather Obama be reelected than to see Mitt Romney, or Newt Gingrich, or Rick Santorum elected President. In fact, most of them spout the antiquated mantra, “Anybody but the Democrat (whoever it happens to be at the time).” Or, “At least Romney, Gingrich, Santorum, etc., won’t take us over the cliff quite as fast as Obama.” But when discussing Ron Paul, many “conservatives” take the position, “Anybody but Ron Paul.” Why is this? What is it about this good man that so many good people can have such animosity toward him?

I am convinced that these “conservatives” who oppose Ron Paul reveal much more about themselves than they do about Dr. Paul. Let me proffer a few observations.

Observation Number One: We Have A Constitutionally Illiterate Society

Many “conservatives” are woefully ignorant of the US Constitution, and when a constitutional scholar such as Ron Paul interjects the Constitution into the political debate, he is speaking a language that many of these “conservatives” simply do not understand. He might as well be speaking Spanish or French. To many “conservatives,” the Constitution is a foreign language.

For the better part of the Twentieth Century, the Constitution was ignored and neglected. Pastors have never studied the Constitution. Businessmen have never studied it. High school teachers and college professors have never studied it. Policemen and sheriff deputies have never studied it. Even attorneys and judges haven’t studied the Constitution. Let’s be honest: we have a constitutionally illiterate society today. As a result of this constitutional ignorance, people (including Christians and “conservatives”) simply cannot fathom–much less appreciate–constitutional solutions to America’s political woes.

Dr. Paul knows the Constitution. He has studied it. He has read what America’s Founding Fathers and framers have written about the Constitution. He has studied the enlightenment philosophers, theologians, and teachers–you know, the same ones that Thomas Jefferson and James Madison studied. He knows that the reason America is in the mess it is in today is because the Constitution has been abandoned. And he also knows that the only way to fix it (politically) is to return to constitutional governance.

Therefore, when Dr. Paul talks about drugs, foreign policy, military adventurism, or even social issues, he does so from a constitutional point of reference. And the Constitution is clear when it comes to these matters. Domestic drug laws are the exclusive responsibility of the states–as is virtually every other law enforcement matter. Foreign entanglements, empire building, turning our military personnel into the world’s policemen, etc., are all anathema to constitutional government. And the longer our political leaders continue to ignore the Constitution, the more America will continue to slide down this slippery slope in which we now find ourselves.

Ron Paul’s position on these matters is in historical agreement with America’s Founding Fathers and the US Constitution. The following report outlines Dr. Paul’s sagacity regarding so-called “social conservatism” and the proper role of constitutional government (the title of the news report notwithstanding):

http://tinyurl.com/82slxzf

Dr. Paul’s detractors demonstrate that they do not truly understand the US Constitution.

Observation Number Two: Many “Conservatives” Have A Misguided Perception Of Ron Paul’s Position On The State Of Israel.

How many times have we heard Dr. Paul’s critics say that Ron Paul is “against Israel”? Too many times to count. I have been with Ron Paul in public and private many times, and I have never heard the first anti-Semitic word come out of his mouth.

Theologically speaking, you could not get a consensus of opinion from among the leading Biblical scholars and theologians regarding the modern state of Israel and Biblical prophecy if your life depended upon it. Many sincere Christians believe that the Biblical promises to Israel have all taken place in history past. Many sincere Christians believe that there are many promises to Israel that are yet future. And of these groups, many believe that the modern state of Israel is the fulfillment of Bible prophecy, while many others believe that the modern state of Israel has no relationship whatsoever to the future Davidic Kingdom. And the fact is, when it comes to America’s foreign policy, it doesn’t matter!

Constitutionally, the President of the United States owes his loyalty and allegiance to only one country: The United States of America. He has no right to interfere with the internal affairs of any country–including Israel. He has no authority to give trillions of dollars of hard-earned taxpayer dollars of foreign aid to any country–including Israel. When Americans go to the polls this November, they will elect the President of the United States, not the Prime Minister of Israel. As far as any American President is concerned, Israel, like every other nation, should be judged on the basis of its actions, good or bad (as should our own nation be judged). Any American President should do everything in his power to cultivate peaceful trade relations with foreign countries, and to protect America’s people and territory from those nations that would attempt to harm us–no matter who that nation is.

Ron Paul’s position on Israel is a constitutional one. He knows the US should stop meddling in her affairs and let her govern herself as she sees fit. Israel is a sovereign, independent nation fully capable of conducting her own affairs. What is amazing to me about so much of this Israel debate is the way many Christians ignore the fact that for every dollar the US gives to Israel, it gives at least four dollars to her Arab neighbors. Tell me again how this “blesses” Israel? How has America’s foreign policy of manipulation and coercion into the political and commercial affairs of nations throughout the world (including the Middle East) “blessed” Israel–or any other nation, for that matter? Can anyone remember when Iran was our friend? And who was it that cut the legs out from under that friend and elevated a government that would become hostile to both the United States and Israel? The US State Department, that’s who! Who orchestrated the rise to power of both Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein? The US State Department, CIA, etc., that’s who! Who has repeatedly demanded that Israel swap “land for peace”? Various US Presidents and Secretaries of State, that’s who! And what is currently stirring the pot of strife and hostility in the Middle East today? An interventionist US foreign policy, that’s what!

It is no accident that Ron Paul receives more support from American military personnel, active and retired, than all other GOP Presidential candidates combined. See this report:

http://tinyurl.com/7gk9c4o

No matter what one’s personal view of Biblical eschatology may be, the President of the United States is obligated to put the interests and safety of the people of the United States first! Period! How dare any President pander to ANY foreign country? How dare any President elevate ANY foreign nation to a position superior to the United States? And how dare any American citizen expect that our President would do either?

Observation Number Three: Ron Paul’s Detractors Must Not Comprehend The Existence Of The New World Order (NWO).

Ladies and gentlemen, ever since the Woodrow Wilson administration, the United States has been increasingly under the influence of internationalists who desire to commercially merge the nations of the world into one global community. The United Nations is a major contributor to this agenda, as are a number of international organizations. The New World Order is not a fantasy; it is a developing reality! And Presidential administrations from both major parties have willingly collaborated with this draconian agenda. In fact, under Presidents George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, G.W. Bush, and now Barack Obama, globalization efforts have mushroomed exponentially.

The Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission, the Bilderbergers, etc., are major players in the creation of a NWO, as is the military-industrial complex, the Federal Reserve, and international banks on both sides of the Atlantic. Another major component of the establishment of a New World Order is the burgeoning surveillance society and police state that both major parties in Washington, D.C., seem determined to implement.

Ron Paul is the ONLY Presidential candidate from either major party that truly understands the New World Order and is determined to resist it. He’s the only one! Mark it down, neither Romney, Santorum, nor Gingrich will lift a finger to resist the power elite inside the New World Order. They will do nothing to reverse the surveillance society taking shape in America. They will do nothing to resist the federal government’s obsessive control-freaks who are running many federal bureaucracies. Either none of them understands it, or if they do, they are absolutely unwilling to lift a finger to resist it.

I can only conclude that Ron Paul’s detractors haven’t a clue about the New World Order. They must not see it. They must not understand it. They must not be able to identify it. They must be totally ignorant about it, or else they would clearly appreciate Dr. Paul’s knowledge and acumen when he seeks to warn people about it and put himself on the firing line to oppose it. Even if one disagrees with Dr. Paul regarding particular societal issues, one must admire Ron Paul’s stand against the New World Order–especially since he is the only one opposing it! It is obvious to me that the only people who cannot appreciate Dr. Paul’s courageous commitment against the NWO are those who totally do not understand it.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that everyone must agree with me and support Ron Paul for President. I know that good people can come to different conclusions in any political race. What I am saying is that it seems obvious to me that the vast majority of Dr. Paul’s vocal detractors seem to demonstrate misperceptions–or even downright ignorance–in at least one or more of the above realities.

Support him or not, vote for him or not, any honest American who understands constitutional government, who understands what a constitutional foreign policy should look like, and who understands and is concerned that America is in the throes of a burgeoning New World Order MUST at least appreciate and admire Congressman Ron Paul. And as for me, I SUPPORT, AND WILL VOTE FOR, RON PAUL!

Here’s your Sign

Written by Pastor Mark Driskill
February 21, 2012

Read John 2:18-22
“What sign will you show us?”

Are you looking for a sign from God? Are you holding out on faith until the Lord does something to wow you into believing? What kind of sign would do the trick?

Let’s see, God could speak to you in a big booming voice and say, “Hey it’s me!” – But chances are you would think it thundered, like the people in Jesus day did (John 12:27-29) when they heard the voice of God in broad daylight. Maybe he could come and appear in front of you. Unfortunately if the intensity of his glory didn’t vaporize you, you would probably just think you were hallucinating. So what kind of sign would it take to finally convince you?

Throughout the Bible we see God appearing to people and giving signs of all kinds only to find them resisting him still. God has parted seas, stopped the sun, sent fire from heaven, overturned armies, and even dropped bread from heaven. But still the recipients of such things have all too often found creative ways to continue in disbelief. You see the problem is not that God doesn’t reveal himself. The problem is our sinful refusal to believe even when the evidence is right before us.

Our passage today reflects that. Jesus, after turning water into wine at a wedding in Cana, comes to Jerusalem. There he is so infuriated by the wanton abuse of the temple he trashes the courtyard and starts a stampede. Then after that he is approached by the Pharisees who demand, what they always demand, a sign. They aren’t convinced by his prophetic cleansing of the temple. They need something to dazzle them into believing. Jesus responds with these words: “Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.” Being the literalists they are they think he is talking about the temple in Jerusalem, but he is talking about a much greater sign, the resurrection of his body. The scripture goes on to say that after his resurrection his disciples realized what he meant and they believed the sign of the risen one.  You see the Pharisees wanted a sign but did not realize that the sign they desired was right in front of them. Jesus said essentially, “I’m all the sign you need.”

Oh friend, Jesus himself is all the sign you need. If the wonder of the crucified and risen one is not enough for you, you will not be convinced by anything else. History bears witness to the life, death, and yes the resurrection of Jesus Christ. You need a sign of God’s goodness, look to the manger in which he was born. You need a sign of God’s righteousness, look to the simply profound and sinless life he lived. You need a sign of God’s love? Look to the cross where God said, I’ll love you even if it kills me…and it did. You want a sign of God’s power? Look to the empty tomb where the iron hand of death was shattered like glass.

Sometimes, as in this story God’s sends the sign, but we only recognize it after he is risen and exalted in our midst. Then like the disciples, we remember and believe. Today if you are looking for a sign from God just open your eyes and see the savior standing right in front of you. He has given you all the evidence you need of his love and power.

A Year of Progress Stopped By The South Carolina Senate

By Dr. Tony Beam.

The January 28th edition of World Magazine trumpeted a year of success across America for the pro-life movement. The tea party led conservative takeover of the United States Congress in 2010 overshadowed an even more significant political event that same year. Across the country state legislature after state legislature moved from left to right as conservatives gained legislative majorities. Election week 2010 began with 60 state legislature chambers controlled by Democrats and just 36 controlled by Republicans. When the dust settled after the 2010 mid-term Republicans had taken control of 19 legislatures for a total of 55 compared to just 38 under Democrat control. The last time Republicans controlled this many state house chambers Herbert Hoover was president.

How historic were conservative state house wins in 2010? Consider the fact that the state of Alabama switched from Democrat to Republican control for the first time since reconstruction. In Minnesota Republicans won the Senate for the first time ever. From sea to shining sea state houses changed from blue to red in a historic election that will have a profound effect on the political landscape in America for years to come. It was the night conservatism swept the country like a flood!

The problem is, someone forgot to open the floodgates in South Carolina. In state after state pro-life legislation was brought up for a vote, passed into law, and signed by the governor. In the 12 months since the conservative landslide 65 new laws protecting the unborn have passed in 27 states. In 27 states, Pro-life laws were strengthened, the lives of babies are being saved, and more women are being exposed to the truth about abortion.

During the same time period the South Carolina House of Representatives passed three strong pro-life bills by substantial majorities and sent them to the Senate. The Senate stalled all three bills and now all three are in danger of becoming the victim of Senate inaction. South Carolina’s legislative calendar is based on a two-year cycle. Bills that pass one chamber in the first year of the cycle must pass the other chamber before the end of the second year in the cycle. Two of the three pro-life bills passed by the House are mired in the mud of the South Carolina Senate’s arcane rules. One of the bills, the Freedom of Conscience Act, failed to pass the Medical Affairs Committee by a seven to seven tie. That vote sent the bill from the full committee back to the sub-committee where it will likely die at the end of this legislative session. There are eight Republicans and seven Democrats on the committee. So how could there be a seven to seven tie? It’s what happens when one Republican votes with the Democrats (Sen. Raymond Cleary of Georgetown) and one conservative Republican doesn’t attend the meeting.

So now, people working in the health care industry in South Carolina who don’t want to sell out their pro-life principles and be forced to participate in abortions will have no recourse. All because one Republican decided to join the Democrats and one decided, for some reason, not so show up. The other two bills also face uphill battles if they are going to pass before they become victims of the senate graveyard. S102, the bill that would prevent South Carolina from using taxpayer dollars to perform abortions under Obamacare, made it to the Senate floor but will have to be set for special order (the calling up of a bill that has been sent to the bottom of the stack) to have a chance to pass. So far, that bill has not been called up and therefore languishes in the Senate.

The final bill is the Born Alive Infant Protection Act. It simply states that if a baby survives an abortion it cannot be left to die even if the obvious intent of the mother was to end the child’s life. That is a bill that should have passed both chambers of the legislature without opposition since it deals with preventing infanticide. But at this writing the bill is stuck in a committee in the Senate.

The National Republican Party platform affirms the dignity of all human life. It reads in part, “We assert the inherent dignity and sanctity of all human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental, individual right to life which cannot be infringed.” There can be no doubt as to the meaning of this statement. So I am left with one, simple and somewhat troubling question. How can three pro-life bills face extinction at the end of this legislative session in a state where Republicans have a 76 to 46 advantage in the House and a 27 to 19 advantage in the Senate and where they hold every statewide constitutional office, including the Governor?

Nationwide, is has been a year of progress for conservatives. In South Carolina it has been a year of politics as usual.

When Jesus Goes Off!

Written by Pastor Mark Driskill
February 17, 2012

Read John 2:13-17
“Zeal for your house will consume me.”

“Tell me what makes you angry and I will tell you what you care about.” The first time I heard this I realized how important anger can be. Anger is an indicator. It tells us what we care about. I only become enraged when something or someone I care about is threatened. Sometimes my anger is justified, when I am stirred over something truly important. Other times my anger is childish and self centered, when I’m not getting my way. Anger is directly related to passion. If you think about the things that make you angry you can trace them back to your deepest values. No one gets angry about things they don’t care about on some level, even if that something is self.

Jesus demonstrates what he cares most about in this account of the cleansing of the temple. Our Lord is consumed with passion for his father’s house. So when he sees it being cheapened and degraded into a religious trading center he is furious. You can’t imagine the horror of seeing the Son of God crashing toward you with a whip and screaming, “Get out!” In other words, if you really want to see just how hostile Jesus can become, mess with his father’s house. This is why the ancient prophecy spoke of the coming messiah with these words, “Zeal (or passion) for your house will consume me.” The Lord Jesus has no tolerance for anyone or anything that devalues the father’s house.

So what does this have to do with you and me? In Israel the temple was seen as the house of God. In the holy place stood the Ark of the Covenant which represented the presence of the almighty. The temple was the father’s house. But now where is the father’s dwelling place? Where is the holy sanctuary of the almighty? Consider these words:

  • “Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit…” (1 Corinthians 6:19) and
  • “In Him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.” (Ephesians 2:22) and
  • “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with men…’ ” (Revelation 21:3)

Every born again believer is a dwelling place for God through the Holy Spirit. All the worlds great religions have temples to worship their gods. But only in Christ Jesus are we invited to become the house of God ourselves. One of the greatest revelations of the Christian’s life is perhaps the realization that God has not signed you up for a religion, but has literally come to dwell within your very being. His life is in you. His power flows through you. He is your life force.

Now having said that let us return to our initial theme. “Zeal for your house has consumed me.” Do you get this? The same Jesus who was zealous for the temple made of precious stones, is intensely passionate about the temples made of flesh and blood and spirit. He is passionate about you because you are the father’s house. Your very cells are infused with divine power. Every fiber of your being sizzles with holy fusion. God himself is in you and that is why Jesus so jealously seeks your holiness to be manifest. He will do whatever it takes to drive out those things that cheapen and degrade you, the dwelling place of the almighty.

Oh, how would we live, eat, drink, and carry ourselves if we realized how serious our Lord is about our lives! Friend you are the dwelling place of God! How dare you treat your body, mind and spirit like a trash heap for the world? Let us live in holy reverence and unbridled joy at the jealousy with which our Lord guards us. Let us reject the lie that God doesn’t care how we treat our physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual lives. You are the dwelling place of the most high God and your life was ransomed by the precious blood of Christ. Don’t let your life become a marketplace for the devil. Honor God in your body, mind and spirit, because he is passionate about you.

The world is enveloped in confusion

By Coach Dave Daubenmire
Originally Published on NewsWithViews.com

“There is none so blind as he who will not see We must not close our minds, we must let our thoughts be free…Everything is beautiful in it’s own way. Ray Stevens “Everything is Beautiful

I hate to disagree with Ray Stevens, but not everything is beautiful. There are a lot of ugly things flying around right now. The world is enveloped in confusion.

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” Someone floated that truism out there long ago and it also stuck. It is important to note that both phrases make the point that there are “two sides to every coin.” (Sorry, couldn’t resist another one).

But it is important that we not confuse “coins” with arguments. Because of the success of cable “news” programs on “fair and balanced” Fox News, or slogans like CNN’s “the most trusted name in news,” Americans have been lured into the false premise that every argument has at least two-sides.

That is why we have become such “mind-numbed robots” as the man “with talent on loan from God” is fond of telling us. But we have “drunk the Kool Aid”, “taken the bait”, swallowed the lie “hook line and sinker.”

We are a nation of cliché’s and most times we find ourselves repeating them without giving much thought to what the actually mean.

Oh well, “everyone is entitled to his own opinion” they love to tell us. Just a cliché. Try standing up in your church and speaking against the horrors of abortion, sodomy, or divorce. Try taking graphic pictures of aborted babies to your local town square and see if that holds true. Or how about having your child do a report on Creation Science in your public school…or speak the truth about the medical consequences of homosexuality.

You see, there is only one side to Truth. There is no opposing view. Truth is a stand-alone position that no amount of “questioning”, or arguing against, or attempts at censorship can overturn.

Truth is Truth, and no amount of “evidence” can change it. There are no “two-sides” to Truth.

But the media is complicit in trying to destroy Truth. Sean Hannity’s “Great American Panel,” CNN’s “Political Round-Table,”and CBS’ “Face The Nation” are all examples of the media’s attempt to spread doubt.

Why else do you think after every big news story the networks assemble a panel of “experts” to explain to us what we just heard, but more importantly, explain what it “really means.” They are not in the “news” business. They are in the opinion-shaping business. They are practicing before our very eyes what the Serpent asked Eve in the Garden.

Did God really say that? I paraphrase the Old Snake. “Are you really sure that was what he meant?” (Satan would be a fine guest on many of the opinion-shaping shows.) They are experts at creating “another side” of an argument where no “other-side” exists.

It is all part of the “value’s clarification” indoctrination in our government schools. It permeates every area of society. To use another catch-phrase, there are “experts” whose actual job is to “muddy the waters” in regards to Truth. We are so “behind the eight-ball” on what is going on in the culture. Let me help to explain it.

Abortion is the killing of an innocent human life. That is the Truth. Most people understand that, but they become confused by the “bait and switch” of Satan’s minions. If we make the argument about a baby’s “right to live,” the pro-aborts will lose the debate and they know it.

So they change the debate to “a woman’s right to choose,” or “when life begins,” or instances of “rape and incest.” The baby gets “lost in the shuffle” because they have “clouded the issue.”

Here’s the Truth. A baby is alive and no one has the right to kill it. There is no other side to the debate. Does a woman have a “right to choose” to kill another human being? Of course not. So they make the argument about choice…not about life. (Did God Really say?)

Who is against free choice? Even God grants that. A woman can choose if she will have sex, with whom she will have sex, and where she will have sex. But that same “freedom of choice” does not apply to the life of the child created by her choice. She has no “right to choose” death for another human being. Taking an innocent life is ALWAYS WRONG.

Homosexual marriage is another one. Male sodomy is sin, and, for thousands of years, illegal. All major religions in the world would agree that the insertion of one man’s penis into the rectum of another man is sinful, unnatural, and unhealthy.

But that is not what the debate is about. The “sexperts” tell us that it is not about anal sex, but about a “right” or a “choice” or that it is about “two people who love each other.” “Don’t you know that The Constitution guarantees the right to marry…equal protection of the law? Government has no right to tell you who you can love.”As if “who you can love” is the debate.

Yet they never define what marriage is” (Read this great piece by Selwyn Duke). In fact, they have UNDEFINED marriage. Marriage means nothing…or anything…or everything. If “marriage” is undefined then who can ever say that polygamous “marriages” are wrong…or “inter-family” marriage…or “human-animal” marriage.

If the marriage debate is about the “right to marry” and marriage remains undefined, the cultural transformers will win. How can you declare wrong something that is undefined?

I wrote “Change the Words, Change the World” three years ago. It is worth the read.

This is what the American government-school system has given us. They are nothing more than indoctrination centers where young children are taught WHAT to think rather than HOW to think. They crumble the foundations of the American society like a silent jack-hammer.

Our churches are not much better. Most church-goers salivate at every word that their “pastor” speaks from the pulpit. They are not encouraged to do as the Berean Christians did who “searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so“God said it, I believe it, that settles it.”

But are you sure God said it? Have you “searched the Scriptures” to verify the Truth of what you are being taught? Or are you merely walking lock-step with “the word” from your pastor?

Why do you think there are so many denominations? It is because somebody found a “different angle” on what the Bible teaches. How do you know what you are being taught is the Truth?
I know, your pastor is a “man of God?” Does that mean that someone who disagrees with your pastor’s doctrine is NOT a “man of God?” Does any church or denomination have a corner on Truth?

Speaking in tongues, not speaking in tongues, submersion in baptism verses sprinkling, pre-trib rapture verse post-trib rapture, tithing is required verse voluntary giving, Sunday worship verses Sabbath worship…the “church” has just as many “opinions” of the Truth as Fox News. Just like Cable News, the church “expert” believes he is right and everyone else is wrong.

We have been programmed both in the church and in the culture. We are no longer able to “discern the Truth” on our own. We need someone like Rush Limbaugh, some expert, to tell us what to believe…to be out “truth detector.” ( I thought that was the job of the Holy Spirit?)

But we shouldn’t be surprised. After Jesus told Pilate that“everyone who hears my voice hears the Truth,” Pilate asked the question that echoes across the ages: “WHAT IS TRUTH?” Pilate was looking directly into the eyes of Truth and could not recognize it. Perhaps Pilate should have conjured up a “Great-American Panel” to get their input.

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If yecontinue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. -John 8.

Turn off the radio. Stop spending so much time watching the boob-tube. The Word of God is the source of all Truth. If Christians spent more time in The Word, rather than trusting their pastor to give them his version of the Truth, or trusting that a TV opinion-shaper is “looking out for you,’ we would be less susceptible to deception.

“My sheep hear my voice…for they know not the voice of strangers.” -John 10.

Do you spend time in His Word? Do you recognize His voice? Can you hear the Truth? God is not the author of confusion.

Who has your ear?
